If you read any gaming sites you rarely get a surprise in what is coming to the console. Gears of War seems to break that mold. Four new MAPS out this Thursday. Sweet Deamba!
Skipping it. $10 for four maps on a game where the multiplayer is weak at its best.
Sorry, I am just cheap like that. I still don't think that I ever got my $60 value out of GOW. The campaign is short, the multiplayer is repetitive, limited, the weapons are unbalanced, and the maps have no creativitiy. Hey look, a burnt out car over there! Another wall here!
I'll save my $10 for Forza 2...and oh, that Halo 3 thingy is coming soon.
(Yes, I'm having a "fuck the world" day at work -- perhaps I'll chainsaw someone tonight to feel better).
I don't share the same feelings for Gears as Sharkie. I think the weight of the team play in Gears is the best yet. And the weapons are very unique with the torquebow and chainsaw. The cash for the four maps is worth it if I don't go out and spend $20 on beer one night while playing Gears instead. My Liver thanks Gears of War.
My $59 Gears purchase was based on my speculations (and hope) that the game out of the box would be at least equal to that value. I didn't buy it thinking future free upgrades would make me feel better about the money I spent. Therefore, I don't have a problem paying for the maps or any extras they add. BTW, without buying the extras, the game still functions as promised when first bought.
However, if I felt the way Sharkie does about Gears out of the box, I would totally agree not to pay to make the game better.
Gears has been a blast. I love the team play, but hate that it's not hosted on dedicated servers.
The 2130 Clan is a casual group of older gamers comprised of friends, family and those closely removed. We mostly play on Xbox Live, some play WOW. We believe online gaming is most enjoyable when played with honor and sportsmanship.

Hope your day turned around Shark. That was quite the b34ting you just gave Gears.
I'm stoked to see some new maps appear out of nowhere and Gears multiplayer has been really fun lately.
Of course, two weeks from tomorrow it will be all H3 baby.
