Shark's new Baby

The newest member of the Shark family was delivered by my Nissan Xterra last night at around 10pm. She weighs 80.6 pounds, is 56 inches wide, and is a healthy happy baby named Samsung DLP. The father is doing well also.

Well, I made the jump into the HD era -- fuled by my love of the Xbox 360, Hockey, and HD...The downstairs living room is coming into shape. This is the next to last piece of the room (next up -- lighting).

To the right, a picture of the newest arrival next to the previous gaming box (the stand is coming today). In the center, the Xbox 360 and DishNet DVR.

And, for salivating, a pic of it with the 360 logo. Playing H2 last night was incredible. Unfortunately, I suck now because my view area has increased so much --- I'll have to retrain. :)

This is excellent Shark. Congrats on the new arrival. You played well last night for your first diaper change.
The TV looks incredible. You'll find you see more in H2 than ever before. The corners and shadows are more exposed in HD. This helps. Your livingroom looks like a sweet gaming center. After playing at Termas' pad the surround sound is going to be my next purchase for the 360/HD set up.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that found the large screen a little challenging to get used to. It makes some things harder, like sniping, but makes keeping track of everything on the map a lot easier. 100+ mph over the Brooklyn Bridge in PGR3 may make you want to hurl at first :) I was decompressing to a little Xbox arcade after H2 last night, and played Geometry Wars. Get that game cranked up on the DLP, it's out of control.

Arm is right, Surround sound is the way to go. I have turned up my powered sub and opened up the crossover a bit. Tach those big V'12s up and you feel it in your spine.

I have every available HD channel and have the receiver plugged to the TV with DVI, and the 360 has given the best picture to date, even over analog component video. I have ordered a 3rd party HDMI cable, and will let everyone know if it looks any better than Composite video.

Way to Go Shark!

Tim,

Have you done the complete download on Geometry Wars?
I like the Live Arcade.

I have puchased Zuma, Geometry Wars, Joust, and Gauntlet.

I wish I would have just downloaded the demo of Gauntlet, but it was just a few $$$

Let's play Gauntlet over Live!
