Buffing Out the Gamerscore

Considering how low my gamerscore is compared to some clanners, it's nice to know that I can get Achievements now just by using Google.

Should We Upgrade to the New Blogger?

There's a new version of Blogger available, but in order to use it we all need Google accounts. Is anyone against this? A couple links to help you decide:

A table for three...

Ok, time to go into Halo 2 for some clanning fun. H2 will boost its way back up in the games played list with the "Rule of Three" opportunity to get into the H3 beta (unless you are already in like Mondo).

Just for a recap...

• Play at least 3 hours of matchmaking in H2 between 2/1 0:01 PT, and 2/3 23:59 PT.

Gears of War multiplayer basics

A very good video about the basics of the game and some good strategery on a few maps. Most importantly they comment at one point that those animation clips are key to understand and strike at the right time given a certain battle situation when animations are going on. I found it very helpful. Most important is COMMUNICATION during the matches.

Lost Planet Tonight?

Let's give that Lost Planet demo a test drive tonight. If it sucks, we can play something else. Here are some tips for Lost Planet so you're not completely lost. : )

New Gears Maps on Jan. 10

The free, online content was promised, and ye, it shall be delivered. Two new maps for Gears of War will be available on January 10 (Jan 11 for Aus & NZ) free of charge, along with an "introductory video" starring everybody's favourite over-exposed game developer, Cliffy B.

The maps are called Old Bones and Raven Down, and should be a welcome reprieve for anyone getting bored with the current selection. Raven Down in particular looks sweet, featuring a rare Gears double-punch of rich colours and vegetation.

Raven Down: A Raven Helicopter has gone down in the middle of a large scale battle with the omnipresent Locust Horde. Gears have taken out the Seeder and gamers join Delta Forces moving into the crash site from all angles to search for survivors.
Old Bones: In an attempt to eradicate any traces of human history and culture, the Locust Horde has emerged under Sera's Capitaline Museums and has begun to destroy them brick by brick. Each gamer's mission is to help the Delta Force recapture the museums before all remnants of humankind's existence are obliterated. [via Kotaku]

Anyone Seen My Planet?

Armleg and I had a good time playing the Lost Planet multiplayer demo the other night. There are lots of big-ass guns, some fun and unique grenade types, jumping mechs and each player has a grapling hook for ascending buildings. All that was missing were more clanners to blow up. If you can spare a few minutes, download the demo from the Marketplace and let's have a snowball fight.

The first look at the Halo 3 Beta goes to deserving gamers.

Now this is a nice Christmas PRESENT to some of the troops overseas. Some of the comments can be expected but this was a nice gesture by Bungie. Our good friends have a son in Iraq and he is so thankful for the R&R he gets playing with friends and family on Live.
