Marble Blast Ultra Review

For you lucky 360 owners Live Arcade now has Marble Blast Ultra. I downloaded the full game and am addicted. It has three difficulty levels with about 20 maps to complete at each level. You can finish each difficulty by just finishing the maps and/or you can finish each map under a 'par' time and get achievements for that accomplishment. Getting under par time is much harder as you progress through the 60 total levels. Some maps are more fun than others but most of them are challenging and keep you trying without throwing the controller through that new HD TV.

Another cool feature are the hidden Easter Eggs. There are 20 of them and all but the first one are a real tough find and sometimes finding them doesn't mean you can easily reach them. The first map has one and then after that they are much harder to come by with 60 maps and only 20 eggs.

I have also been playing some Multiplayer games on Live and that is hilarious. I've only dropped into Live games in action and then joined groups to continue. I think if a few more of us get Marble we could set up some fun games on Live.
Roll on,

Heads Up Armleg

" Halo 2 Series 8 -- More Halo 2 action figures are headed your way, with four more figures in stores June 2006. Series 8 will feature Master Chief with Flood Infection Form, SpecOps Elite Commander, Heretic Elite Leader and the first ever 7-inch scale figure of the Jackal."

Can't wait to see some of these guys at a future LAN!

You say tomato, I say correct antithesis...

Mondo got an A on this test.

Weekly Updates Are Getting Interesting

This week's update from Bungie contains some nice analysis of user interface design. We've all experienced bad UIs before -- few things are more frustrating. But in my opinion, Bungie has proven themselves to be UI experts with Halo 2. Is there anything you would change about the Halo 2 interface? Since my job is shifting to the Web team this week, user interface is something I'll be paying a lot of attention to from now on.

Thanks to all who played for the fun games last night.

First MMORPG for the 360

I'm the last one to ask about MMORPGs, but they seem to be all the rage these days. I envision something like virtual Dungeons & Dragons with a lot more people. If anyone is interested in trying this type of game on the 360, there's a beta version of Final Fantasy XI included with the current issue of Xbox Magazine. I'm game to try it if more of you are too.

Turn the lights down low...

Perhaps some of you guys would like to share this li'l ballad with your special lady friends?

Happy Spooning!

Is This a Joke?

So the box arrived today for me to send my replacement console in for a replacement and there was no shipping label inside. No f***ing shipping label inside -- I'm baffled. So I called customer service again and instead of just giving me the address and the account number to bill the shipment to, I have to wait for another box to arrive.

Spread the Word...

Long weekend...we need to have an online gathering. Sunday night! Mondo will be heading to the Shark residence and we need you all to show. So, grab a keg, go crash Madegronk's house, and let's LAN!

The Rug's Been Pulled Again

Well, the quick turnaround on our repair was all for not. The replacement unit they sent us -- a brand new console -- broke last night too. Every one of my games froze after approximately one minute of play. The screen just froze. So, come Monday, I get to send this one back too. Needless to say, I'm pretty bummed. Hopefully the next replacement will function properly.

She's Back!

Just returned to my desk from an all-day meeting and there she was, waiting for daddy. Very quick turnaround on Microsoft's part: shipped on Monday, back on Thursday. I better get home soon so I can play before Tenlin gets home and fires up Zuma. Let's play PDZ later tonight to celebrate.

Random Halo Videos

So what do you do while you're waiting for your 360 to get fixed? You surf Google Video that's what. I think you'll get a kick out of these:

Update: They're all better viewed without sound.

Insane stickie throws
Warthog wackiness
Gitches on every level

Visors & Cigars

I read that Poker is going to be a 360 game this year. We'll have to adopt a Poker night. Can you imagine when we all get the camera and are dealing cards? I'm starting to work on my backdrop now and I'm pulling out my good maroon suit.

Captain, She's Breaking Up!

My 360 just took a shit on me while I was playing Amped 3 -- blank white screen and red on the circle of lights. Here's a link to a description of the problem. Microsoft says it has something to with the power supply. The box to ship it in for repairs comes on Monday. Hopefully, it'll be done in a week. That's all for now, I'm feeling a bit emotional. : (

Gronk Alert

MadeGronk and his family are back living in their newly remodeled (though not quite finished) house. He likened it more to camping rather than the comfort of home. Most important however is that he's waiting for the cable guy to show up and install his Internet connection. It'll be great to have him back online.

Hello... Hello... Hello...

For those of us who have had that fun echo while playing, here is a fix from Major Nelsons Blog.

Get rid of voice echo

Posted: December 24, 2005 @ 5:17 pm (1 week, 1 day ago) By: Major Nelson

There are some reports of people that are getting voice echo in their headset when they are playing some Xbox 360 games on Xbox Live. If you hear the echo, the problem is with someone else in your session. The issue can be easily fixed by having the person in your session who does NOT hear the echo to clean their metal headset plug. I recommend using a cotton swab and alcohol. Remember.. If you hear echo, then it’s someone else in the chat session that needs to clean off their metal headset plug. It’s quick, easy and can save people a lot of trouble.
