Relic Overview on Bungie

Lot's of valuable information about the new map Relic on Bungie. Never thought I'd look forward to the day after a 3-day weekend so much.

Adding Pictures to Your Post

FYI: Looks like Blogger has upgraded the add picture option so you don't have to use Flickr any more if you don't want to. Either way, be sure to scale your pics down to around 60-100 KB before posting to keep the load time fast.

The Sharking

Did anyone notice a tinge of psychosis in Sharkie last night? Maybe it was his alter ego "Jackie" playing instead? Regardless, it was a lot of fun playing with you all last night after our trip to Telluride. I'm getting excited for the new maps!

Check out Elongation, Backwash, & Terminal

If you haven't seen the reviews on the new H2 maps go to www.bungie.net now and check them out. They have reviewed 3 maps so far and they look excellent. My favorite explanation is in Terminal with the runaway train that flys through the map and takes out the warthog crossing the tracks Hazard Style. Or playing King of the Hill where the hill spans the tracks so not only do you have to avoid the other team, but the train coming through is the best splat going.

Terminal also looks to even out the defense and offense a bit with weapons. It did mention a defensive safe spawning "Hive". Sounds like Bungie wanted to address the spawn killing issue to even things up there too.

We'll see July 5th.

Modified Maps?

Sounds like the mod maps are becoming more common out in the world of Live. www.bungie.net reported on what they are going to do shortly about this.

For those of you who know how that is done I have total respect for your knowledge. Maybe you could explain that one to me sometime? I don't get how they rig a map to do certain unlawful things(like fly around without a banshee or use a battle rifle like a sniper and get one or two hit kills). How does someone than implement that map into matchmaking? It happened to Woody last night. He said the guys were doing crazy stuff and admitted to it being a modified map. Bungie said players using mod maps will be kicked off Live.

I'm really looking forward to the new maps coming July 5th. Bungie is previewing them one a week and doing a nice little write up on each maps details. Coolness.

2130 Summit #3

Summit #3 took place on Friday, June 10, at Free & Tenlin's loft, in honor of Armleg's birthday. We ate a delicious Thai food dinner first, then came back for some gaming. Armleg brought his action figures which brought us good luck at the beginning of the night. Special thanks to Timo for dinner.

Halo Movie On The Way

Some details here. Mister Chief seems like the perfect role for Pee Wee Herman.

Happy Birthday Armleg

Thanks for your positive presence and for all the good times.

For the Good of the Clan

suck1

So we're 3 for 22 in clan matches so far, and last night wasn't any more encouraging. Personally, I don't care if we suck forever, but it does feel good to win one every now and then. Do any of the good players (you know who you are) want to give the rest of us pointers? Are there Web sites you look at for strategy? Or should we just change our slogan from "Push the Button" to "The Least Deadly Clan on the Internet"?

Side by Side

Start rearranging your entertainment spaces.

Two for Tuesday

dukes

Two things: 1) It's Tuesday, time for Halo at 2130. 2) Forza players will appreciate this little piece of driving from (I assume) the new Dukes of Hazard movie. See you tonight.

Update: Looks like the host of the previous link exceeded their bandwidth. I'll keep it up just in case, but here's the official trailer instead.

Thursday Throwdown

Fun times last night were had by all. Even the governor of Cal-i-for-ni-a
made an
appearance. There were some fun Red vs. Blue interclan
matchups,
this single-flag victory by the red team being the highlight.
And after the big group went to bed, the four musketeers had an
awesome
Team Slayer victory against some pretty good players.
Good to play with Dunkel and VT again.
